The International Program

 

 

This is a lecture given by Shira Leffel, a graduate student in the International program for Crisis and Trauma Studies, Bob Shapell School of Social Work. Shira is the producer of Pregnant in Israel: Empowering Uninsured Women, which is an educational healthcare-based movie for pregnant asylum seekers, refugees and undocumented women living in Israel, with the aim of assisting women in navigating the complex processes of finding and receiving planned parenting and prenatal services.

 

In this lecture Shira contextualizes the problems faced by women from this community and outlines the rationale, development, dissemination and implementation of the movie.
