As the world's population increases and the shift to urban dwelling puts a greater demand on the global food supply, food security is rapidly becoming a critical issue. Urban slum dwellers have particular difficulty as their lack of access to clean water and a stable food supply only worsens with the increase in population.
A recent student competition, in partnership with the Clinton Global Initiative, addressed these issues and suggested that the solution lies in social enterprises. This series of short lectures will present three unique ideas for developing solutions to food insecurity in urban slums.
